What is the relationship between Conexus and Blyss Abyss?Blyss Abyss is part of the Conexus Camp, along with several other communities. We have separate infrastructure but are building a large scale art project together. How is the $115 spent?$50 goes towards camp infrastructure and the art project, $65 goes towards the meal plan. Infrastructure includes things like shower evaporation ponds and covered kitchens. The $65 gets you on the meal plan which will save you a lot of time and money. How come I am being asked to work 7 to 17 hours.We are a theme camp thereby contributing directly to everyone's enjoyment of Burning Man. The seven hour number was determined as a minimum amount that the average person would end up contributing under normal circumstances. For example, if you were to clean up the art structure on Wednesday morning and help with strike on Sunday you would have met the 7 hour requirement. What if I'm arriving on Thursday and leaving on Sunday morning? What if I can't meet the seven hour requirement?In general we want our friends to come and exceptions can be made. People often have to leave early due to school or for a wedding; it might be someone's first time at Burning Man and a large theme camp like ours might seem overwhelming; or someone could be putting in a tremendous amount of work for some other art project. If you want to come but are uncertain about your participation please contact the registration folks and talk about it. We want you to come and play with us. Can I camp next door to you guys?Probably not our location is mapped, and our neighborhood is for theme camps only. Can I participate in the camp meal plan and art projects, but not camp in that area?Sure, if you want to camp elsewhere that is fine. Our main concern is that our resources are used fairly and wisely. Where is the Blyss Abyss going to be located?Probably 1 street back and 4:00 How are decisions made?We try to do things by consensus and to let the people doing the actual work make the decisions. There are core teams for both Blyss Abyss and Conexus that make decisions ( based upon group consensus ) for larger decisions such as the overall budget.
